Together, Forever
01:41
|
|||
Two best of friends
Until the end
Through civil war
Through climate hell
In a dying world
A burning shell
Together, forever
They would have a story to tell
Down in history they would go
Together, forever

Scraps
02:43
|
|||
In the future times
We will not recognize the world
Society of contractors
Fighting for every scrap that they earn
This is the world that Tim lives in
This the world that Scraps lives in
Together, forever
In a struggle to exist
They’re living on scraps
No social services
No fucking chances
They’re living on scraps

August In Autumn
02:19
|
|||
Tim was driving his beat-up sedan
Taking hipsters from one fix to the next
As the fall leaves clung to the dying trees
When he picked up a wide-eyed man
Who said he had a plan
He had a secret he just had to share
His name was August
He was a time-traveler
(or so he said)
His secret was that he had the key
He knew who was to blame
For this perpetually burning plane of existence
Tim would be his errand boy
He grabbed Scraps
They took a trip
It would feel so good
To take back control,
To right the ship

Murder For Good
01:52
|
|||
In all of the years
They had been the best of friends
This new adventure would test them
But it was means to an end
No longer would the landscape
Be rife with disease
They could hike the old hills
Without fearing demise
It was a means to an end
It would be murder for good

Hank (The Tank)
02:12
|
|||
Before they’d left on their trip
They’d been given a tip
August sung them the folk songs
About their future past adventure
They were revered
For taking out Hank
Like a fucking tank
So it was only natural
That they went in fully confident
They had to kill this big man
But when they met Hank
He was not what they said he’d be
He went on for hours about
his clean energy method
He had it all figured out
They had it wrong
This man would save them all
Hank (the tank)
Tim had a decision to make

Clean Slate
02:12
|
|||
Something had happened on that trip back
To the cat named Scraps
He had learned to think
He had learned to speak
Just like the folks songs had said he would
It was almost too much to bear for Tim
His best friend now understood so much
On that first night with Hank
Scraps felt suspicion
When he snuck into the study
And found the evidence right there
Hank was the bloodiest scum of all
One of those who had forged the fall
The cat had a decision to make
So much, so early on
But his growing feline brain
Told him this was right, not wrong
Right, not wrong

After dinner was served
And they all went to bed
Scraps uncurled his wiry body
And unfurled his sharpened claws
Like an armed intruder
He stealthily passed through Hank’s open door
He gently traipsed across his bed
And swiftly cut through his jugular
As the blood went everywhere
Hank stared in disbelief
But still spat clarifying words
And Scraps felt a little dread:
“I knew this might happen,
But I never, ever thought it would be you
My grandson, Tim, perhaps …”
And then he stopped
History changed by a cat named Scraps

Backtrack
03:07
|
|||
Tim was horrified
When he learned the news
What had his cat done?
Had this all been a ruse?
How was it that Hank
Was the grandfather he’d never known?
Who was that man in the cab
Who sent them back into the throes
Of history?
It was probably a little late to be asking these questions, he realized
But he wasn’t mad at Scraps … it was just his nature to kill
Just his nature to kill
So back they would go
Through the blue portal
Back to their own time
Back to their old lives
The decision had been made
They would live with the consequences
They would see the world
As it would be
Together, forever
